vasya is a lynx point [colorpoint] domestic shorthair cat. i'm not sure what his whole history is, but it seems like he had been surrendered to the shelter i got him from in rural eastern washington. (it's not very common to come across feral colorpoints, and he's very, very social and drawn to people...) vasya is a pretty big cat in general, though he's lean rather than stocky. he has a very expressive face. he's only 3 years old [birthday 4/23/2019]. he loves to talk loudly and get as much attention as he can. has an unhealthy obsession with cereal and bread.
nat [full name natasha] is a black domestic shorthair. she's very, very tiny for an adult cat--about the size of a 'teen' cat just under a year old. when i was living in florida and worked as a volunteer for an arts camp which was held in the city's rec center. the rec center pottery studio employees had been working on catching kittens who had seemingly been abandoned very young. nat was the last one they caught--and i happened to be there that day. we ended up deciding to keep her quickly. she was probably between a month to two months old, but she was so small you couldn't tell she was that old without seeing her eyes. she could fit in one hand. she was badly malnourished and my mom later told me she was convinced she wouldn't survive when we first got her. she did survive and flourished at that, and is now 6 years old [birthday 4/19/2016]. she's very picky about when she'll come out from hiding and is generally pretty skittish, only hanging out with and demanding attention around me and my mom. she loves to watch us cook food and has a very, very quiet voice.
